FDA Data Dashboard

Established: Jan 16, 2023

In the new year, the FDA put together a data website where the goal is “to increase transparency and accountability by displaying and allowing the analysis of public FDA data through easy use , visually accessible, customizable, and understandable graphics.”

On the Data Dashboard you can search by categories like Inspections, Compliance Actions, Recalls, Imports Summary, Import Refusals, Imports Entry.

From there each category can be broken down further by year, product type, citation type and full information breakdowns.

As a food manufacturer or consumer, you may need to know whether your suppliers or even just other similar products to your in the industry are having any issues. This data can be a great resource for checking in on the current findings by the FDA and regulatory inspectors. You can also use this as a tool to apply some of the improvements made following these recalls, incidents, etc. to your own facility.
