Southeast Inspectors Meeting Recap

On October 13, the Southeast Inspectors group held their annual meeting at Yoder’s restaurant. During their half day meeting, they had updates from Rainey Rosemond, Jedd Moncavage, and Zach Travis.

Rainey gave a presentation on Feed Assessment and how an in depth dive into what you are feeding your cows can really make a difference. As a part of the Penn State Extension program, she and others in her department are able to go to farms directly for recommendations for on-farm feed management, forage analysis, and other great benefits.

For a general recap of the slides from Rainy please click HERE. There may be an update to these slides with more detail in the future but in the meantime if you would more information in the meantime, Rainey’s information is at the end of the slides.

Jedd Moncavage gave a presentation on compliance updates for farms and dealing with DEP Ch102 (Erosion & Sedimentation) and DEP Ch91 (Manure Management). He also presented updates on Concentrated Animal Feed Operations (CAFOs) and surrounding updated to the Federal and PA regulations.
